Closing knife with two opposing blades
France, 18th century
Steel, silver, mother-of-pearl and gold
Length of both blades open. : 25.3cm
Closed length: 9.4cm
Blade length: 8cm

A single-edged steel blade and a silver blade hallmarked AT in a diamond.
Steel plates; tiered and engraved mother-of-pearl ribs, mounted on gold rosettes, separated by gold fillets.
Gold miter.

Good condition, spring lively, small loss on one bolster.
