Dagger called Kandjar, gold damascene with its scabbard
Persia 19th century
Steel, iron, gold damascene
Long. total: 51.5cm – Length. blade length: 32cm


Curved, double-edged steel blade with a central ridge, with a gold damascene decoration on each side: flowers, scrolled foliage and a cartouche.
Iron hilt, engraved with scrolls and friezes, and covered with gold leaf. Symmetrical guard and pommel; heel decorated en suite.
Wooden scabbard covered with amaranth velvet, with a gold thread stitching. (Velvet later)

Good condition.
