Flintlock PISTOL, richly decorated; Ottoman Empire.
Balkan. nineteenth century
Steel, silver, brass, turquoise, coral.
Long. Total: 50.5 cm; Long. Barrel: 29.6 cm; Caliber: 17 mm


Round barrel, engraved with an intermediate level ring, entirely covered in chased silver on one third and set with two turquoise tears and one coral. Silver ring on the mouth. Raised breech tail, in silver.
French-style plate engraved with foliage; flint dog engraved afterwards. Bassinet equipped with a firewall.
Gilded brass frame, with embossed flower decoration. Silver trigger guard cut and chiseled with scrolls, garnished with a piece of coral.
Counterplate symbolized by a silver rim and screw covered with coral beads.
Cap with long tails, in silver chased with friezes and garnished with five coral and turquoise cabochons.
Fake silver wand with turquoise tip.
