Hussar officer's saber with scabbard
France. Revolution - 1st Empire
Brass, leather, wrought iron, wood
Long. 101.5 cm

Brass frame, Hungarian crown, rivet button, with a short rear tail. Handle covered with sheepskin and filigree with a twisted brass wire. Joining arc at right angles to the cruise and terminated with a subpyramidal button.
Wide, one-edged, counter-edged hollow-sided blade.
Wooden scabbard covered with brown leather, with two cut-out brass fittings, wrought iron dart and two bail rings.

Good general condition. (Leather of the scabbard probably posterior, slight slit in the crown)
