Single-action, percussion manual revolver, six chamber fluted barrel, rifled mirror barrel.
Solid ivory butt plates and butt ring.
Marbled trigger guard, dog and tail.
All parts at number: 5409.
The barrel opens using a wing hinge allowing its tilting and thus the loading of the barrel. The focal point is a half-moon, with a leafy decoration.
It is entirely covered with a decoration of foliage scrolls included in registers, damascened with gold. The finishes are on a 95% blue background. The upper section of the barrel presents a calligraphic cartouche in Arabic language mentioning Sultan Abdülhamid II (born in 1842 and died in 1918) as well as the dates of his reign as Caliph of Islam: 1876 and 1809.
A central cartouche bears the following stamped letters: “Smith & Wesson Springfield Mass. USA PAT'D JAN. 17 & 24. 65. JULY 11. 65. AUG. 24. 69. APR. 20 & DEC. 18. 1877. REISSUE JULY 25. 1871. "
