Round, rifled barrel, serialized “18” and stamped with a starred “X”.
Round steel barrel, marked "THE GUARDIAN AMERICAN MODEL OF 1878" in a cartouche, punched "ELG" in a circle with a star, representing the ordinary proof of a black powder weapon in Liège in Belgium; of a " X » starred, registered “18”.
Wooden butt plate with control punch.
Bail ring.
