Rare showcase with olfactory offerings, Japan, Meiji period.
Round shape (diameter 34cm) in lacquered wood with wine-colored waves on the face and black lacquer on the reverse.
Adorned at its center with a carved wooden head, representing a samurai with a hanging jaw and intended to receive the offerings. This head is surmounted by a dragon hooked to the head by its anterior legs.

Very nice condition, on base.
