SPOON depicting a PUTTO
Probably Netherlands, 17th century

Silver spoon with round bowl whose twisted handle depicts a putto holding a dolphin. He stands upright, wings outstretched, left foot resting on a sphere, itself included in a scrolled capital.

It is probably a baptismal spoon.

Provenance: Former Edith and Jean Metzger collection.
