Transition bicycle, called Grand Bi, BREHIER rue de l'OURCQ
France around 1880
Steel, iron, wood.

Steel frame, glossy brown color.
The right fork bears its brass plate marked BREHIER 62 rue de L'Ourcq, PARIS.
Iron saddle mounted on shock absorber.
Large wooden wheel, 95cm in diameter, with wooden and straight spokes and steel tread. Small wooden wheel, 51cm in diameter with wooden and straight spokes, steel tread.
Acorn pedals, height adjustable on the stirrups.
Handlebar in the shape of a gendarme's hat, with two wooden grips.

Very good condition.

This transitional bicycle represents the end of the velocipede and opens the way to the Bicycle.
