Tobacco box made of corozo nut carved with a seated man, his regulation pack on his back, holding his beard, wearing a black wooden cap with pearl and star inlays.
On the reverse, the lid, once made movable using a metal hinge, remains correctly in its compartment.
The term Grognard refers to the name given to the soldiers of Napoleon Bonaparte's imperial guard, called the Old Guard – it included both the Grenadiers and the Chasseurs.
