Two dry-point compasses with spherical hinges with brass ribs and faceted iron arms for one and steel for the other.
These instruments – which owe their name to their two identical tips, were used to report lengths or lightly mark a support for preparatory tracings, taking measurements or reporting proportions in many professions such as, in particular, sailors , cabinetmakers and carpenters or even stonecutters.
