This botanical publication is based on the work of Johann Weinmann or Duidelyke Vertoning. It was published in Amsterdam by Zacharias Romberg between 1736 and 1748 and is recognized as the masterpiece of 18th century botanical publishing.
The work contained more than 1000 mezzotint prints (one copper plate per coloured ink), and for some proofs watercolour highlights.
