Around 1925
Illustration project for a book.
Brunelleschi's career is above all that of an illustrator who has heard both the lesson of the 18th century gallant masters and that of the jesters of the commedia dell'arte . Luc Monod lists nearly 30 works illustrated by Brunelleschi, for authors such as Andersen, Gabriele D'Annunzio, Charles Perrault, Jean de La Fontaine, Boccace (the Decameron ), Diderot, Voltaire ( Candide , L'Ingénu ), Goethe, Musset or even the Abbé Prévost.
