Terracotta Statue of Vulcan - 18th Century - 145cm

Large statue representing Vulcan.
The back is hollow to be applied against a facade.

Half-round bosse.
Sculpture in two parts.
Original terracotta painted white.
Unique piece.
Average condition. The hammer is missing as well as part of the anvil.
The terrace has been reattached and restored.
Despite this, there are still gaps and traces of shocks.
Height: 145cm.
Provenance: attic of the Château de Jeurre, former property of Count Mollien, Minister of Finance under the First Empire.
The castle of Jeurre is located in the commune of Morigny-Champigny in Essonne.
