Description

Pair of "Concha" model armchairs, by Joaquim Tenreiro, c. 1955.

This model, with a rather atypical design compared to the style of Joaquim Tenreiro, is a response to the needs and desires of the mid-1950s. Its name, "Concha", the hull or the shell, is an illustration of the shape of its creamy curved backrest, soft and cozy comfort.

This armchair is intended to be a cocoon, a place conducive to relaxation and harmonious calm. This character of softness is reinforced by its finish entirely covered with fabric, here white cotton bouclé fabric which suits its spirit perfectly.

It rests lightly on four conical legs that highlight its airy armchair appearance that looks like a feather or a cloud.
