Carlo Hauner & Martin Eisler Pair of Armchairs, c. 1960

Brazil Modernist

Pair of armchairs in tubular metal and cotton bouclé upholstery, produced by Forma in the 1960s.
The famous designer duo signs here an innovative piece in which we find the elements that have made their reputation as avant-garde designers.
These armchairs rest on a folded and welded metal base, the trademark that they popularized in particular with their "Reversivel" model. This gives the piece a balance between the lightness of the structure for an airy look and the visually strong geometry that creates a note of stability. The seat and backrest, designed in a perfectly ergonomic way, are totally covered in fabric, here white cotton bouclé, which reinforces the sleek style of the designers while offering the greatest comfort.
Martin Eisler & Carlo Hauner have once again been able to offer with this pair of armchairs a form that testifies to an era in search of simplification of lines that go to the essential, where the structure is in harmony with the function, with particular attention on adapting to the body and also to the new way of life. Armchairs are indeed very easy to move around in an interior, symbol of a changing era marked by a desire for mobility, flexible and adaptable furniture, which makes it possible to regularly reinvent its decor, its practices and its way of life.
A vintage set, in every sense of the word!
