La Cava is an artistic ceramics factory founded in 1956 in Lastra a Signa, in the Florence area, by the poet Alberto Caverni. Many artists were welcomed including Vinicio Berti, Alvaro Monnini, Bruno Brunetti and Mario Nuti, inspired by abstract art, primitivism and informal art. Bruno Brunetti and Mario Nuti were part of the Tuscan group called "astrattismo classico". The manufacture remained active until the beginning of the 60's. Its period of production was thus very short. La Cava strictly reproduces the artistic codes of the artists, who express themselves as if on a canvas.
