Piva, Paolo

Paolo Piva was born in Adria, Italy, on March 13, 1950. He is a designer but also an architect, he will bring a lot to the cities of Venice and Vienna. In 1968, he began studying architecture at the University of Venice (IUAV) with Carlo Scarpa as professor, finishing in 1973 with a thesis on the city of Vienna from 1918 to 1934.



He will participate in a number of collective and personal exhibitions, in 1970 the first competitions for the city of Vienna. He remains very attached to this city and multiplies the studies with his thesis director (organization of a large exhibition on socialist Vienna).



Then Venetian palaces to renovate (Palazzo Remer) are commissioned to him, in 1980 the Kuwait Embassy in Qatar...



As well as architecture, design, Paolo Piva collaborates with the greatest publishers since the 1970's, including B & B Italia, Dada, de Sede, Lumenform, Poliform among others... among his most accomplished creations biscuits , let us quote the Alanda coffee table which mixes design and architecture, the Arca Leather Sofa for B & B Italia (1985) and the Aura Chair for Wittmann (1983).



In 1988, he became assistant professor at the Architecture Acadmey of Vienna emia where he became a professor in 1991. He also has a design office in Venice and of course in Vienna.
