Musical instruments
A musical instrument is a device that produces sounds by man’s action, including voice or hands. The word “Organology” names the instruments study. An”Instrumentarium” designates a group of instruments used in a musical work. They are divided into categories, according to the way they produce sounds. There are string instruments, like the hurdy gurdy, the piano or the harpsichord. The voice is among the wind instruments, but also brass instruments like trumpet or woodwind instruments like the saxophone or the oboe. Among percussion instruments, developed mostly during the 20th century, there are the xylophones, the kettledrum and also instruments that produce but one sound like the triangle. Lastly, there are instruments called combination instruments among which one finds the organ and the claviorganum, and all the electronic instruments from the 20th and 21st centuries.
