Standard lamps
Floor lamps differ from other light fixtures by their size. They can be used for indoor lighting or for outdoor lighting, for example the lamps designed by Hector Guimard at the entrance of the Parisian Metro. All the lighting companies produce floor lamps, whether their name is Arlus, Maison Charles, Fontant Arte, Reggiani, Robert Mathieu, Mathieu Lustrerie and many more. They can be made out of rattan, stone, gilded or lacquered wood, or metal like hammered iron. Quite often a floor lamp has a very basic design, but at times it can be an elaborate work on shape and sculpture like the works of Michel Zadounaisky (1903-1983) who is becoming more and more popular.
