<p> Born September 14, 1917 in Austria and died December 31, 2007, Ettore Sottsass is one of the major figures of the Italian creation of the post-war years Student, he studied architecture at the Polytechnic School of Turin. He later joined Giuseppe Pagano's group of architects and then became independent with the creation of his group &quot;The Studio&quot; in Milan. </p><p> In the mid-60s, Ettore Sottsass joined the Anti-design movement bringing together architects, artists and designers from Florence and Turin, united around the same demand: to denounce the overconsumption society of the time. </p><p> Ettore Sottsass launched in 1981 the creation of his <em>Memphis</em> group, which he left four years later to devote himself to his architecture and design agency. </p><p> The Italian designer has been awarded several more Compasso d'Oro during his work, which made him one of the key designers of the twentieth century. </p><p> Find Paul Bert Serpette a selection of lighting from this great Italian designer. </p>
