The Saint-Ouen Flea Market in Paris is among the five most visited sites in France. Its main players, the merchants or "Puciers" (flea market vendors), are little known to some. This unique community of 1,500 islanders, who live and work on the outskirts of Paris, fascinates those who encounter them, whether customers or visitors. Jean-Pierre and Thomas Rey share their discoveries through their encounters with the Puciers, much like ethnographers, but also with the passion and appreciation of art.
Jean-Pierre Rey is a prolific author, familiar with the Spanish painter Velasquez, the Napoleonic Wars and Catholic missions in China.
Thomas Rey is a dealer in old master paintings at Paul Bert Serpette. He is involved in the preservation of artistic heritage (Marcus Prize 2024).
