MAINS GÉANTES is a gallery dedicated to the Decorative Arts and their representatives, a space for those who shape the world. Through a discerning selection of furniture and art, the gallery combines historical heritage and design, celebrating the creative process and the work of humankind.
Why the name, GIANT HANDS ?
It echoes an exhibition by the painter Jean de Gaspary, presented in 1964 at the Bernheim-Jeune gallery. The “giant hands” there referred to the mechanics of agricultural machinery, seen as an extension of the human hand. A longtime friend of the artist, Aurélien Jeauneau wanted, through this project, to place gesture at the heart of the gallery. The logo is even designed by Jean de Gaspary, as a nod to this shared history.
