Invited Collectors on the set of BFM TV
It is the story of a couple gathered by the love of a strange and rare material, the Bakelite. Jacques and Emile, the Collectors, are proud defenders and promoters of this ancestor of plastic who knew his hours of glory in the inter-war period. True testimony of the Roaring Twenties, Bakelite was declined by jewelers in frivolous jewels and playful to adorn these ladies. Colored, extravagant and sought after, this material gave free rein to an unbridled creativity: lipstick hidden in a pendant, cigarette holder concealed in a pompon, minaudière joining flask of perfume and compact. The queen of the Parisian evenings did not escape it: even Joséphine Baker signed a collection at the height of her legs. Now replaced by resin, Bakelite would belong to the past if Jacques and Emile did not continue to conjugate it to the present ... for the delight of the elegant!
