Straight knife, kard, wootz damascus blade.
Eastern Iran, 18th century
Steel, marine ivory and gold damascene
Total length: 35 cm – Blade length: 24 cm – Width. from the back of the blade: 1cm

Strong single-edged blade, in "wootz" Damascus steel, with damascene decoration of flowers, birds and felines; it ends with a ferrule taken from the mass and forged in baluster, with a damascene decoration presenting flowers; the two-register back has a median ridge, it is also decorated with gold damascene.
The silk is engraved with intaglio flowers and foliage, on which two sailor's ivory plaques are riveted.
A forged steel bail ring is attached to the rivet button.

Very good condition.
