Wheel-lock arquebus signed “ANDONI MANN..”
European work, circa 1730/1750
Steel, wood, horn
LT: 90 – Barrel length: 60cm – Muzzle diameter: 13mm
Barrel with sides along its entire length and with a rifled bore; equipped with a rear sight with a plank fixed on a blade; brass barley grain front sight mounted in a dovetail. Stamped on the top with four fleurs-de-lys and a punch and a number on the left side.
Flat-body spinning wheel plate; entirely engraved with a rustic composition with a man and his dog at rest, a deer in the woods, then richly chiseled with scrolls. A reserve reveals the signature "ANDONI MANN…" Inner spinning wheel; hammer entirely engraved en suite.
The trigger guard is digital and counter-pierced with a four-leaf clover.
The walnut mount is partially carved. The butt plate has the support button fixed on it. Horn mouthpiece.
Wooden stick with a horn tip.
