Ancient Greek aryballos flask, 5th century BC

Description

Rare aryballos from Rhodes in the form of a lion's head with an open jaw showing the tongue. The opening of the flask is found between the ears of the lion. The aryballos would have been hung with the flat side against a wall.

Sold with a thermoluminscence test

In very good condition, intact with some slight wear
