Beautiful attic-style pelike with red figures on a black background showing on one side the fight between Theseus and the Minotaur. Theseus, dressed in a chiton with a pileus (hat) tied around his neck, hanging down his back, is holding the Minotaur by his horns in preparation to kill it with his sword, the Minotaur has his back turned and is trying to escape.
On the second side, two men are in conversation, both draped in their himations. The man on the right is leaning on a stick.
Both scenes are framed with geometrical motifs.
The top half of the vase is varnished with a brown/orange finish.
