Silver alcoholometer engraved on the handle “L’Ingr Chevallier vis-à-vis the Flower Market No. 1 in Paris”. This mention refers to “Engineer Chevallier”, who is none other than Jean Gabriel Augustin CHEVALLIER whose optical shop was located at 1, quai de l’Horloge, in Paris, from 1796.
