CM141 Desk by Pierre Paulin for Thonet - Mahogany & Metal - Ca 1953

Le goût de l'antiquité

Description

Modernist desk by French designer Pierre Paulin produced by Thonet.

This model called CM 141 is Pierre Paulin's most emblematic desk.

Its varnished mahogany box is in perfect condition.

The wood is of good quality, the grain is elegant and has a beautiful pronounced color, which is not common with CM141s.

Its black lacquered metal base is made of four thin tubular legs joined by three flat rectangular section crosspieces.

The original black formica top creates a nice contrast with the wooden box while recalling the color of the base.

It shows signs of normal wear.

Among the most acclaimed pieces by Dr. Pierre Paulin.

Part of a current of furniture bringing together Guariche, Alain Richard, Motte, Mouilles etc...
