Initio Arts & Design

Description

This office set of Hungarian origin, circa 1930 in tubular metal and painted wood is typical of the Bauhaus and emblematic of the design of the 1930s, especially in Eastern Europe. It was produced in Budapest by the 'Ideál csőbútorüzem' manufactory which produced furniture for architects and designers such as Farkas Molnár and Lajos Kozma.

Composed of a desk, two chairs and an ashtray, these pieces were exhibited at the Museum of Applied Arts in Budapest in 2012 during the exhibition "Art Deco és Modernizmus" and are referenced in the catalog of the exhibition.
