Large console table by Belgian sculptor Roger Bonduel (1930-2019) in acid-etched and patinated steel. The tabletop is edged and has a beautiful tarnished patina. From 1961 to 1966, Roger Bonduel taught visual arts at the Bruges Academy of Fine Arts. Bonduel became known for his sculptures, furniture, and bas-reliefs. He used nickel, copper, steel, silver, brass, and bronze. He played an important role in the revival of religious art. This table was created in the 1960s for an interior design project for a modernist chapel in Belgium.
