Louise-Élisabeth de France (1727-1759) married by proxy, on August 26, 1739, Philippe de Bourbon, second son of Philippe V of Spain. Among the most beautiful engravings is the general Veue of decorations, illuminations and fireworks of the feste given by the city of Paris on the Seine river. Indeed, the wedding festivities took place partly on the artificial island built by the Italian architect Servandoni between the Royal Bridge and the Pont Neuf, in front of the Louvre. The arrival of sixty illuminated boats gave the signal for the fireworks, the combat of sea monsters loaded with fire horns, torrent of fires, water fires and a "cradle of stars" ...
