Plaster head representing 'Hera' - from Academy of Ghent Belgium.

Around 1960.

Goddess of women, marriage and childbirth, she was known to the Romans as Juno. Homer gave Hera the nickname "bull-eyed" because of her large, full eyes. Hera was both sister and wife of Zeus, with whom she ruled Mount Olympus.
