Sculpture by Guy Lartigue.

Description

This sculpture is a reduction of an unfinished fountain project by Guy Lartigue. It represents a dancing faun with his syrinx courting a languid nymph. The base is in Comblanchien stone inlaid with fossils and shells, as for the figures they are in welded iron.

Guy Lartigue is a French artist born in 1927, he is particularly known for his monumental sculptures adorning many public places.

This work is specific to Guy Lartigue because, in fact, it is an alliance of two of the artist's specialties, in this case: his art of fountains but also his characters created by flat strips of corrugated iron.

Provenance: artist's studio.
