Suite of six chairs, mod. PK 9 - 1961-1962
Nickel-plated steel structure, cognac leather covering
Edition E. Kold Christensen

The PK9 chair is also known as the "Tulip chair" due to its unique shape. The base is characterized by the three nickel-plated steel parts which act as a column, like legs and supports for the seat element in leather. The inspiration for form comes from the body's imprint in the sand. Later, during the design process, the most ergonomic, optimal and comfortable solution will consist of an interior shell in thermoformed plywood. The shell is covered with leather which is glued on the back while being loose on the front to improve comfort. The feet are in satin brushed nickel-plated steel. saddle-stitched leather.
