Gingerbread mold (or speculoos), monoxyle, in carved chestnut.
18th century folk art.
Decor of two entwined hearts surmounted by a crown (ducal or count) above two crossed torches.
Cake molds with this type of decoration were often made on the occasion of engagement or offered at the wedding.
Old holes and small lack at the base due to the old presence of xylophages. Not active because processed.
Hardener injected into the small lower part attacked.
Beautiful original patina.
