<p>Marble fragment of a triple head representing the various associations of the Greek Goddess Hecate: magic, crossroads and the moon; she is considered to be a benevolent, protective goddess who bestowed prosperity and daily blessings on the family; despite residing in the underworld Hecate is a deity with positive links to magic in witchcraft as the Mother of Angels.</p><p> Represented here in the form of a triple-head, this piece would have formed part of a monument of three women back to back as part of a statue used on an altar in a home.</p><p>Ancient Greek, 5th Century BC</p><p>Sold with export passport</p><p>Height - 7 cms</p><p>In very good condition</p><p> </p>
