Description

Two (2) monolithic ceramic-sculptures by ceramist-sculptor Hervé Rousseau (1955).
Two rough sandstones of a primitive roughness with ashy textures by the blasts of flames
Both works are signed.
Creation date 2015.
Unique pieces.
Height 80 and 70cm.
Cooked at this full flame in a naborigama wood-burning oven for six days.
The works of Hervé Rousseau are marked by the gestural imprint of the ceramic artist. Blocks, landscapes, torsos, are rough and bumped, marks of imprints of thumbs, palms and feet, seeming like magma, mineral, eroded, archaic, brutalist, burst, cracked, alive, mysterious.
The artist creates works of great roughness, through the interaction of his body and his hands with the material.
