Fourteen (14) American folk art paintings. Historic boxing scenes from the 1920s and painted from archival photos in the 1960s.
Oil on canvas on cardboard.
All are framed.
Three (3) paintings represent the world champion Jack Arthur Johnson (1878-1946), nicknamed the “Giant of Galveston”.
He became the first African-American world heavyweight boxing champion.
Two other identified boxers are James Jeffries (with long tights) and Canadian boxer Tommy Burns (the little giant from Hanover).
