For their new exhibition about mountain furniture, Maison Verrsen is interested in the work of Henry Jacques Le Même. Essential architect of Megève and inventor in the 1920s of chalet du skieur .

Trained at Emile Jacques Ruhlmann, in the creation of refined interiors, decoration projects, the design of neat furniture and carpentry.

In fragile health, he left Paris in 1925 and settled in Megève on the advice of a friend.

In 1926, he received an unusual order. Baroness Noémie de Rothschild, who wants to build a foothold in the nascent winter sports resort, entrusts her with her project, the architect is 28 years old.

He invents a new form of habitat, all in finesse, in the details.

From the 1930s, orders poured in, chalets, boarding houses, hotels, shops, interior decorations.

His modernist house-workshop in Megève has been listed as a Historic Monument since 1995.

We will also present rare pieces by Charlotte Perriand, from Méribel and Les Arcs in Savoie.

Le Same and Perriand have never worked together, with the exception of a collaboration for a hotel project in the 1950s, but each defended the same work for architectural integration in the mountains, with housing adapted to the needs of their new clientele practicing skiing.
