Hussar sabre.
France. 1st Empire period.
Brass, steel, leather.
LT: 97cm – L. of blade: 78.5cm – Width. at the heel: 3.5cm

Cast brass hilt, long tail cap with fillets and rivet button. Flat joining arc, arriving at a right angle on the cruise and finished with a faceted knob. Handle covered with sheepskin with twisted filigree arranged in a chain. Mumpsovoid.
Curved blade with hollow sides.
Brass scabbard with two bail rings; iron dart only.

Fairly good condition.
