<p>This map was Paris was created under the orders of Michel Etienne Turgot, who was the Provost of the Merchants of Paris (1354-1358).</p><p>This version was started in 1734 by the artist Louis Bretez and engraved in 1739 by Claude Lucas.</p><p>This set is comprised of 20 engraved copper plates mounted on Japanese washi rice paper. Total dimensions: W 320 x H 260 cms</p><p>Some slight wear. First edition.</p><p>19th century watercolours.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
