DAGGER called Dha

Burma - Myanmar, 19th century

Iron, silver, wood, cotton and marine ivory

(restoration and old split)

Dagger with wrought iron blade, single-edged and finished with a bevelled point.

The spindle of cylindrical section is two-thirds in marine ivory, while the ferrule is in wood, covered with a silver yoke with filigree decoration.

The scabbard is made of wood covered with silver and embellished with an applied decoration of filigrees applied in friezes or rosettes. Line braiding in pink cotton.
