DAGGER of child, called Kindjal

Caucasus, Northern Dagestan, 19th Century

Steel, gold, iron, bone

Long. total: 28.2 cm; Long. blade: 19.6 cm

Child's dagger called kindjal, whose steel blade is double-edged, central throat, finished in carp's tongue.

The handle is composed of two bone plates with two rivets in the shape of a flower, with geometric decorations in gold.

These daggers were weapons for men but also ceremonial objects.
