Description

Flintlock pistol signed Dars in Angers. Silver fittings.
France early 18th century
Steel, iron and silver
Total length: 43cm - L. of the barrel: 25.5 cm - Cal: 12mm

Barrel with sides then round, engraved in the middle with a ring and signed on the top G. NORTMAN A BERLIN; decorated with silver on the breech tail.
Flintlock engraved with grotesque figures and signed DARS à ANGERS; gooseneck dog decorated en suite.
Against openwork silver plate engraved with two zoomorphic heads.
Silver trigger guard chiseled and enhanced with a Caesar's head.
All fittings in chiseled silver and engraved in half round bump.
Cap with long tail enhanced with a head of Caesar and engraved with zoomorphic figures.
Veined walnut frame, carved, decorated with silver threads and a thumb piece representing a Roman profile flanked by two garlands and surmounted by a crown. Wooden stick.

Very good condition.
