Gamekeeper's bayonet
Germany, 19th century
Steel, alloy, iron, leather
Long. total: 66; Long. blade: 51.8; blade width: 29mm

Straight blade, symmetrical double-edged, diamond-shaped in section; marking at ricasso level JCSL Göppin.
Handle with pommel topped with an inverted cup decorated with foliage and scalloped rim. Blackened and squared wooden rocket.
Cruise with quillons ending in inverted anthropomorphic heads. Shell with scalloped edge, with a figure surrounded by scrolls in its center.
On the back of the handle is located the attachment consisting of a dovetail groove and a spring with stopper controlled by a button at the rear of the pommel.
Boiled leather scabbard, with two steel fittings.
