Description
Hamlet Machine" tables by Robert Wilson, aka Bob Wilson, XO edition, 1987.
This profiled steel table takes its name from the play "Hamlet Machine" by Heiner Müller. In 1986, Bob Wilson staged the play, designing the set and furniture. The following year, XO produced a marketed variant of the table with a glass top and square dimensions. In the same series, there's the chair. It illustrates the importance Bob Wilson places on the object in his stagings. "I take as much care in designing a chair as I do in creating a play," he says. "All the details have to do with form and line, time and space".
