A globetrotter, Laurence Bonnel has exhibited her work all over the world since 2003. Today, with her experience as an artist, she embraces a new profession, that of gallery owner. For her first gallery, Open Scene installed alley 1 at Paul Bert, she chose new looks posed on a secular material, ceramics. Highlighting young talent and ancestral know-how, this is Laurence Bonnel's challenge. In her space, she reveals the work of her peers encountered during her many journeys, such as Annalisa Guerri, attentive to unstable equilibrium, doubt, transformation and delicacy. Interpreted by the precariousness of the world, his work is imprinted by the poetry emanating from this impermanence. The Mexican Avelina Fuentes looks at the process of genesis and morphogenesis. The birth of life and forms are both at the heart of his artistic thought. Katherine Glenday, South African artist, plays on the fine and translucent material of ceramics. She exhibited here for the first time in France. It is the material of ceramics that is also at the heart of the work of the Brazilian Valeria Nascimento who is inspired mainly by the natural world and porcelain whose fineness and malleability oblige him to create new forms, genuine Challenges to weightlessness. Laurence Bonnel also fell in love with the research on the body and its movements undertaken by a former figure skater, Nathalie Nahon. The famous Louis Cane, finally, a Niçois artist who founded the Support / Surface movement and whose works are present in the Center Pompidou collections, completes this rigorous selection.
