Koshirae, katana mount with certificate
Japan, early Meiji period. 19th century.
Wood, lacquered iron, gold.

Total length 100cm, designed for a blade with a 70cm nagasa and a 1cm sori. Width at the habaki 3.1cm for a thickness of 1cm. Nakago of 14.8cm.

Saya in straw lacquered wood with constellation of sea shell fragments; Mòn gilded on one side.
Ichizuki, shibabiki, kunigata and kané guchi in iron, in a row. Dotted and gilded backgrounds on the compartment lines. Sageo in black cotton.
Two brass seppe.
Tsuba nade gaku ho kei, in iron with abalone, fukurin (circle) in chiseled brass; remains of gilding.
Fushi kachira following the saya trimmings. The fushi is signed.
Menuki forming a calligraphy.
Signed wooden tsuka, shagreen samé and black cotton ita tsuka. Wooden mekugi.

Very good condition.
